Rolling the pottery out of the kiln after firing
The finished pottery after a very late night fire. We usually fire later when it is dark outside so we can see the colors of the flames in order to get the correct atmosphere inside of the kiln. This load of pots were fired in a reduction atmosphere and the colors struck the right tones we were going for, mostly being copper reds and purples. We also ran a test on celadons in this load which we were pleased with as you never know until you open the kiln and see how the pottery turned out.
