It is crucial to check the flame color inside of the kiln for the type of atmosphere desired: oxidation, neutral, or a reduction atmosphere. The type of atmosphere dictates what color the oxides in the glazes will most likely become when completed. This is regulated by the amount of oxygen allowed in through the venturi burners between 1750 up to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.
